Community Involvement: Serving Pets Who Need Us
Our dedication to pets drives us to serve not only our patients but also animals in need throughout the community. There are many pet shelters and rescues in and around Fayetteville whose animals need veterinary care. By volunteering our time and talents to these organizations, we help these homeless pets become stronger candidates for adoption. In addition, we have our own shelter right here in our animal hospital that houses adoptable rescues.

The team at Best Friends Animal Hospital is proud to provide all the medical care for AWR. We also support them through fundraising events. As a result of our passionate involvement, we take care of many wonderful Weimaraner patients!
We get involved with many of the rescues with ALWC and support all their fundraising events wholeheartedly! One of their more recent rescues saved 71 Yorkies and Miniature Pinschers from the Lincoln puppy mill. Many of those dogs were adopted out to our clients!
Both Dr. Hokett and Dr. Hill have served on the HSO board for a cumulative total of 10 years! We also provide emergency outreach assistance through HSO for pet owners who cannot afford veterinary care for sick pets. In addition, we participate in HSO’s low-cost spay/neuter program and emergency outreach voucher program.
This very rural shelter needs all the help they can get, so we support them in any way we can by volunteering needed medical care. We also collect donations for their thrift store in our lobby on an ongoing basis.
This local organization offers low-cost spays and neuters, and we sincerely support their mission.
